Well..someone beat me to Deth on Mankrik, i'm pretty bummed about that lol

Someone took Cedric on Mankrik as well.

Created a toon using my secondary name, which was still available, thankfully.

I must say..having my name beat really sucked the wind from my sails, I was waiting then the servers said locked, then said i couldnt make a character till I already had one on the server.

So unless something changed I'll be Dethtoo or most likely BlackMetal which is  my horde name

It's no big thing. The original name I wanted back in Vanilla was already taken back then as well.

What we really should do at this point is create a list of people and the names they are using now so we can get the social aspects in place.

Knowing who is who will likely be the most important thing we can do right now. With the names of many people most likely being taken as well, we can at least hit the ground running to combat misplaced familiarity issues by being able to populate our friends list with people that we can positively identify in the beginning.

Dweedy, if you don't mind, I will create a post and keep it updated as people filter in and announce their names.

Since we are having reports of people having their original Vanilla names taken during the name reservation phase, this post will serve as a repository to help build a list of names on the Mankrik Server so we can help identify one another.

Simply reply to this thread with the name(s) you were able to use during the character creation phase on the Mankrik Server, along with your Vanilla name to match them with.

This list will be continuously updated right up until Classic going live on August 26th.

The List numbers represent the same player in both lists.

Just an update on the guild front.

After chatting with Q he is likely going to set up a guild for his current live guild, so I think we should just start off with some chat channels for Excalibur and SRA and then see where everyone is landing. It will likely make more sense to join up with them for a wider player base, rather than create a new Excalibur guild with fewer people.

Blizzard announced they are adding servers earlier today. Seems the demand for Classic is a bit higher than they expected!

5 of the 12 North American Servers are now showing as Full, with 5 more(including Mankrik) showing as High. The other 2 are showing as Medium.

The newest PvP Server, Stalagg, added just 5 days ago, is already full as well.

Queues are shaping up to be a nightmare if they don't add more servers, I think.

Worldwide it's reported that Blizzard has garnered close to, if not exceeding, a million subs in anticipation of Classic...and there's still almost a week left to go!

Mankrik server now classed as full too, so expect queues on that server. You can still create characters/reserve names just be aware of queues!

Honestly, I expect it will be very popular in the short term but the truth will be the long term hold - will have to wait and see on that front

Amazing....4 more realms to be added on Monday the 26th. 2 PVP and 2 PVE.

Also, they are removing the 3 character limit for new toons and increasing it to 10 toons per realm, and a total of 50 across all realms. All of this happens at 1pm EST on the 26th.
